Greg Abbott has…lost…? A case at the Texas Supreme Court where he was trying to punish Democrats for breaking quorum by ejecting them from the legislature. His party has a long history of targeting Gene Wu specifically, including threatening to revoke his citizenship (somehow?) for his political beliefs. Gene Wu argued before the TX Supreme Court that he was not abandoning his post, but instead defending his constituents by representing their interests to keep a Congressional seat. The state Supreme Court also signaled their intention to interfere in future instances of quorum breaking in the legislature — something that has happened multiple times over the years due to a quirk of TX state law. But any day that Greg Abbott loses is a good day for humanity, probably. Definitely. For sure. He’s the worst. Just sayin.
